Hundreds of local
job seekers got a jump start on their employment search at a unique Career Fair
hosted by Project Self-Sufficiency. In
addition to learning about job openings and educational opportunities,
attendees attended workshops about resume-writing, interview skills and
the job search process. Participants
were able to practice interview techniques and obtain valuable feedback from
seasoned professionals.
“Hosting frequent
Career Fairs gives Project Self-Sufficiency the opportunity to offer a means
for our own participants, as well as members of the public, to meet employers
who are actively recruiting, as well as learn about educational opportunities,
pick up new skills and ultimately, land their next job,” commented Deborah
Berry-Toon, Executive Director of Project Self-Sufficiency. “We successfully place hundreds of individuals
in employment during the course of each year, and we are confident that Career
Fairs have a positive impact on our participants’ job searches.”
