Learn Microsoft Excel in Blairstown

Blairstown-area residents are invited to learn Microsoft Excel at free courses offered at Project Self-Sufficiency’s Main Street location on Thursdays, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.; some income guidelines apply.      Introductory Excel classes will be held November 1 st – 16 th ; advanced Excel classes will be offered December 6 th – 20 th .   Instruction will include the creation of spreadsheets, databases and workbooks for use in tracking inventory, sorting data and creating mailing lists.  Students will learn how to add, subtract, multiply and divide rows and columns using formulas and become adept at storing, managing and interpreting data.  The agency’s computer lab is in the First Presbyterian Outreach Center at 35 Main Street in Blairstown.   A complete roster of free computer classes and employability skills courses are offered at Project Self-Sufficiency’s Newton location all year long, including classes in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, QuickBooks account

Hundreds Spooked at Festive Halloween Party

The Sussex County Family Success Center at Project Self-Sufficiency recently hosted a Halloween “Spooktacular” for hundreds of costume-clad children and their parents at the agency’s Newton campus.   Participants were treated to crafts, dinner, Halloween-themed games, and other activities courtesy of agency staff members and a host of community volunteers including the Newton High School Interact Club.   All of the children received a souvenir photo and goody bag. “The mission of the Family Success Center is to bring the community together in support of adults, teens and children.   The Halloween Party is one of the many events hosted here which allows parents and children to relax and have fun together,” explains Deborah Berry-Toon, Executive Director of Project Self-Sufficiency where the Sussex County Family Success Center is housed. “We are very grateful for the efforts of the Family Success Center Parent Advisory Board and all of the other volunteers who worked so ha

Learn about Divorce at a Free Seminar
