Free Prom Dresses at Project Self-Sufficiency

  Teens are invited to select free, new, or gently-used prom dresses and accessories from the popular “Sister-to-Sister” Prom Shop hosted by Project Self-Sufficiency .   Formal wear including prom dresses, bridesmaids’ dresses, gowns for mothers-of-the-bride, evening bags, jewelry, wraps and shawls, as well as shoes in good condition are all available at no charge.   All items are displayed in a boutique-like setting on Project Self-Sufficiency’s Newton campus, and space is available for dresses to be tried on.   The public is invited, and no appointment is needed.   The “Sister-to-Sister” Prom Shop will be open March 23 rd , 24 th , 25 th , 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.; March 26 th , 3:00 – 8:00 p.m.; March 27 th , 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.; and March 28 th , 9:00 a.m. - noon.   “We are delighted to be offering teens the opportunity to receive beautiful gowns and accessories free of charge at the ‘Sister-to-Sister’ Prom Shop,” commented Deborah Berry-Toon, Executive Dir...

Montville Organizations Donate Hundreds of Dresses to Project Self-Sufficiency

  Project Self-Sufficiency recently received 283 gently used prom gowns gathered at the “Dance & Donate: A Celebration of Strength, Support & Sisterhood” event coordinated by the Rosenberg Real Estate Group in conjunction with the Montville Township Women’s Club and Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Montville. The celebratory event featured a professional dance lesson, performances, refreshments, and photos captured by Montville photographer Julian Garcia.   The prom dresses will be distributed to teen girls during Project Self-Sufficiency’s annual “ Sister-to-Sister” Prom Shop in April.   "The overwhelming response from the community exceeded all expectations," remarked Estrella Rosenberg, who coordinated the effort.
