Parents Needed for Sussex County Advisory Board

  Local parents are invited to attend an information session about the Journey Family Success Center Parent Advisory Board at Project Self-Sufficiency , Tuesday, March 26th, 5:00 p.m.   Organizers are seeking input from families regarding area services, parenting challenges and concerns, and ideas for upcoming events. Career Help, Support Groups, Children's Activities Available Online

Virtual has become the new reality at Project Self-Sufficiency in Newton as the non-profit agency has pivoted to serving clients via video chat platforms and over the telephone due to the ongoing public health crisis. In addition to distributing record amounts of food to local families, the agency is now hosting support groups, career workshops, parenting forums, and other helpful gatherings online. All services are provided under the auspices of the Sussex County Family Success Center , which is funded by the New Jersey Department of Children & Families . All forums are free and open to the public. Santa Comes Early to Newton

Hundreds of local children and their families were treated to an early visit from Santa at the annual Holiday party sponsored by the Sussex County Family Success Center at Project Self-Sufficiency.   Participants enjoyed goofy holiday games, music and crafts based on the popular movie and musical Frozen .   Pizza and cookies were provided by volunteers.   Children were greeted by a special visitor from the North Pole, playfully impersonated by Sussex County Freeholder Director George Graham.   Project Self-Sufficiency is a local non-profit agency which specializes in services for low-income families in northwestern New Jersey.
