Free Job Training Program for Women Launches Soon

Project Self-Sufficiency announces that the fall session of its popular employment skills training program, Higher Opportunities for Women (HOW), will launch October 8th.   The 16-week HOW Program combines intensive computer skills training with classroom instruction and off-site internships to prepare women who have been out of the work force or underemployed to seek entry-level office administrative positions.     Computer training and classroom instruction will take place at the agency’s campus, located at 127 Mill Street in Newton.   Interested participants are encouraged to attend an Open House to learn more about the program.   Open Houses will be held at 10:00 a.m. on September 10 th and 19 th , at 1:00 p.m. on September 11 th , and at 6:00 p.m. on September 17 th and 23 rd . Free Summer Office Skills Training Program for Women

Free job skills training program for women starts in July. Project Self-Sufficiency will offer a free, 8-week training program for women, including lessons in computer skills, job search methods, and interview techniques, along with on-the-job training at a community work site on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., from July 9 th – August 29th.   Open Houses about the Summer Office Skills program will be offered at 10:00 a.m., Mondays, June 3 rd and June 24 th ; at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19 th and Friday, June 21st; and at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11 th and Wednesday, June 26 th .   All classes will take place at the agency’s campus which is located at 127 Mill Street in Newton.   Work sites will be located throughout the county and hours will be dependent upon the employer’s needs. Project Self-Sufficiency announces that the spring session of its popular employment skills training program, Higher Opportunities for Women (HOW), will launch February 19th.   The 16-week HOW Program combines intensive computer skills training with classroom instruction and off-site internships to prepare women who have been out of the work force or underemployed to seek entry-level office administrative positions.     Computer training and classroom instruction will take place at the agency’s campus, located at 127 Mill Street in Newton.   Interested participants are encouraged to attend an Open House to learn more about the program.   Open Houses will be held at 10:00 a.m. on January 4 th and 24 th , at 1:00 p.m. on January 9th, and at 6:00 p.m. on January 15 th and 28 th .
