Acme Stores Raise Funds for Project Self-Sufficiency

  Project Self-Sufficiency has been selected as a charity partner for Acme and will receive donations from its annual Nourishing Neighbors campaign aimed at helping ensure every child has access to a healthy breakfast.     All donations made at Acme stores in Blairstown, Sussex, and Vernon during September will be used to support Project Self-Sufficiency’s Food Project.   Project Self-Sufficiency offers free food and limited personal care products to Sussex and Warren County residents, Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.     Patrons need not be agency participants.     “Thanks to outstanding community support, The Food Project: Nourishing Our Neighbors at Project Self-Sufficiency has remained open and ready to serve anyone in need since the onset of this public health crisis,” commented Deborah Berry-Toon, Executive Director at Project Self-Sufficiency.   “We are exceptionally grateful to be the recipient of a third grant from the ‘ACME Foundation Nourishing Neighbors’ initia

Annual Harvest Shoot Benefits Project Self-Sufficiency

  On Tuesday, September 7 th , the Harvest Shoot to benefit Project Self-Sufficiency will take place at the Hudson Farm Club in Andover.   The event will feature a sporting clay shoot on the 3,800-acre hunting preserve followed by a pig roast.   All proceeds will benefit Project Self-Sufficiency, a local non-profit agency which specializes in services for low-income families in Sussex, Warren, and Hunterdon Counties.   The Hudson Farm Club has hosted a Sporting Clay Outing on behalf of Project Self-Sufficiency for years.   Like a golf outing, the Sporting Clay Outing allows participants to shoot at an assortment of clay targets available at 20 different locations throughout the sprawling grounds.   Each shooting station offers a different presentation of targets, allowing participants to simulate game shooting in a variety of ways.    Teams will have the opportunity to take aim at 100 clays over the course of 3 ½ hours.     Event participants will be served a light lunch, ta
