Get Free Legal Advice about Divorce

  Project Self-Sufficiency will host a virtual Family Law seminar on Thursday, August 11th, 6:00 p.m.  Participants will discuss child support, grounds for divorce, court procedures, alimony, parenting time, equitable distribution of assets, and other topics related to divorce. The presentation, which will be offered through Zoom, is free and open to the public; interested attendees should call Project Self-Sufficiency at 973-940-3500 for log-in details. The agency’s legal seminar series is a program of the Journey Family Success Center at Project Self-Sufficiency and is funded by the New Jersey Department of Children & Families. 

PSS Food Pantry Receives Grant from Acme Markets Foundation

  Project Self-Sufficiency recently received a grant from the Acme Markets Foundation Nourishing Neighbors Program which aims to help connect individuals facing food insecurity with proper nutrition.   The funds will be used to support the agency’s Food Project initiative for local children and families.   Nourishing Neighbors aims to fight hunger by helping keep food banks stocked, supporting meal distribution programs at schools, and supporting programs that provide food to seniors. Community Leader and Sparta Dentist Team Up to Send Low-Income Kids to the Fair

  Sussex County Farm and Horse Show Association Executive Board member Lois Pellow has teamed up with Sparta dentist Dr. Scott Ruvo to offer New Jersey State Fair tickets to 50 local, low-income children.   The duo is working with non-profit agency Project Self-Sufficiency to identify children in need who would enjoy a trip to the annual event hosted by the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, New Jersey.   In addition to the fair gate ticket, kids will receive a gift bag containing a meal voucher from the Agriculture Food Booth, ice cream voucher from the 4-H Dairy Barn, and a ticket for a free ride from the carnival provided by Reithoffer Shows.   The New Jersey State Fair will open on Friday, August 5 th , 5:00 p.m.   Regular hours of operation will be Saturday, August 6th - Saturday, August 13th, 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.   Additional donations are being solicited at $27 per person; contact Lois Pellow at pellowlois@gmail.com to help “Send a Kid to the Fair.”   “So many f

Virtual Seminar to Address Legal Issues Impacting Senior Citizens

  Project Self-Sufficiency will host a virtual Elder Law seminar on Thursday, August 4th, 6:00 p.m.   Legal issues faced by senior citizens will be discussed, including general estate planning, development of a will, advance directions for healthcare, dealing with Medicare and Medicaid, caring for aging parents, and other issues.   The free Elder Law Seminar will be co-facilitated by attorneys Karen Greco-Buta and Eileen McCarthy Born.   The seminar is open to the public and will take place on Zoom; interested participants are invited to call Project Self-Sufficiency at 973-940-3500 for log-in details.   The agency’s legal seminar series is a program of the Journey Family Success Center at Project Self-Sufficiency and is funded by the New Jersey Department of Children & Families .
