Learn about Divorce at Free, Virtual Seminar

  Project Self-Sufficiency will host a free, virtual Family Law seminar on Thursday, June 13 th , 7:00 p.m. featuring attorney Ann Pompelio.   Participants will discuss child support, grounds for divorce, court procedures, alimony, parenting time, equitable distribution of assets, and other topics related to divorce.   The presentation, which will be offered through Zoom, is free and open to the public; interested attendees should call Project Self-Sufficiency, 973-940-3500, for log-in details.   The agency’s legal seminar series is a program of the Journey Family Success Center at Project Self-Sufficiency and is funded by the New Jersey Department of Children & Families .

Unique Summer Job Experience for Local Teens

  A select number of teens can receive paid employment and learn valuable workplace skills at the Summer Youth Employment Program at Project Self-Sufficiency , Monday – Thursday, July 15 th – August 15 th . Rising Sussex County high school sophomores and juniors are invited to apply; eligibility guidelines include family income, transportation status, current enrollment in high school, and other factors.   Candidates will be assessed and interviewed prior to admittance to the program. Free transportation to and from Project Self-Sufficiency will be provided to participants; use of the transportation program and references from high school staff members are required.   Those who have previously participated in the Summer Youth Employment Program are ineligible.   Space is extremely limited; applications must be received by June 14th.     The Summer Youth Employment Program offers teens a wide variety of work experiences, handling everything from clerical tasks to assisting with

Family Fun Nights Continue in June

  Parents who are looking for affordable ways to entertain the kids are invited to check out the free Family Fun Nights hosted by Project Self-Sufficiency on Thursday evenings, June 6 th , 20 th , and 27 th , 6:00 – 7:30 p.m., 127 Mill Street, Newton.     A special Father’s Day event will be held on June 13 th , 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. During June, families are invited to enjoy games, activities, and crafts with a focus on the summer solstice and the national days commemorating yo-yo’s and bingo; dinner will be provided for all participants.   Advance registration is encouraged by calling Project Self-Sufficiency, 973-940-3500.
