International Night of Celebration to Benefit Project Self-Sufficiency

  The Hudson Farm Club will host a local celebration of the internationally acclaimed “Open That Bottle Night” in support of Project Self-Sufficiency on Saturday, February 22 nd , 6:00 p.m.   The unique event was conceived more than 20 years ago by the former authors of the Wall Street Journal’s “Tastings” column, John Brecher and Dorothy Gaiter.   This year’s affair will include fine wines, sumptuous food, and an auction hosted by Ted Tafaro.   Musical entertainment will be provided by the jazz quartet Meant to Be.   In addition to the excellent wines which will be available, p articipants are also invited to bring their own bottle of wine along so that they can share their story about its origin with the other guests.   The event will be hosted by Peter and Cynnie Kellogg, Lou and Kathy Esposito, and Blake and Cathy Ellman.   The worldwide Open that Bottle Night celebration of friends, families and memories encourages those who have been sav...

Free Baby Items, Helpful Advice for Pregnant Women and Mothers of Newborns

  Motivational speaker Diana Perez will headline a special Baby Beginnings event at Project Self-Sufficiency , Friday, January 31 st , 10:00 a.m. – noon, to help pregnant women and parents of young children to access the resources they need to be successful.   The event will feature targeted discussions about setting up a nursery and safe sleeping tips, along with free baby items, prizes and giveaways.   Participants will also learn about immunizations, car seat safety, free and reduced cost activities for families, early childhood development, positive parenting techniques, and other topics related to early childhood health, safety and education.   Project Self-Sufficiency will host a free, virtual Bankruptcy seminar featuring attorney Steve McNally, Thursday, January 30 th , 5:00 p.m.   Participants will discuss the process of filing for bankruptcy, as well as the options available to those facing overwhelming credit card debt, foreclosure, or asset repossession with an attorney.   The free legal education seminar is a program of the Journey Family Success Center at Project Self-Sufficiency.   The presentation is free and open to the public; interested participants must call Project Self-Sufficiency, 973-940-3500, to obtain log-in information.
