Area residents received free screenings as
well as health care tips and education at
Project Self-Sufficiency’s recent Community Health & Wellness Fair. Health
care professionals offered screenings for hearing, blood
pressure, and HIV testing.
Participants also obtained helpful information about smoking cessation,
services for children with special needs, allergies, nutrition, diabetes,
reproductive health, vaccines and other topics. Dental services were
available to families by appointment from Zufall Health Center.
Interactive educational exhibits were offered by 5P Minus Society;
American Chronic Pain Association; Center for Prevention & Counseling; DASI;
Hearing Life; Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice; Morris County Prevention is Key; NAMI
Sussex; National Ovarian Cancer Coalition; Newton Medical Center, New Vitality
Senior Wellness Program, Behavioral Health, Community Health, Cardiology Heart
Health & Blood Pressure, Stroke Health, Rehabilitation Services, Radiology
and Mammography; NJ Kids Safe Community; NJ SNAP-ED; NORWESCAP Senior Reach;
Planned Parenthood; Project Self-Sufficiency; Shop Rite of Newton; Sussex
County Division of Health, Public Health Nursing; Sussex County Special Child
Health Services; Warren County Health Department; and Zufall Health Center.
